About Eddie
Eddie, an experienced educator, a certified singing judge in the Barbershop Harmony Society, a performing member of The Vocal Majority Chorus - 13-time International Chorus Champions, and a long-time singing/performance/organizational coach, loves helping people. He always find Joy in teaching.
He started close four-part harmony in high school and developed a love for a cappella singing. He has sung all four parts over the years - though when he sang bass it was in a mixed group at the University of Texas (Hook 'em Harmony) so he didn't have to hit the really low notes! He won the Rocky Mountain District contest singing baritone in The Boys Next Door. He has sung in and directed choruses that have won district and competed at the international competition.
Eddie was the founder and original director of the Heart of Texas Chorus, was the director of A Cappella Texas, is currently on the music team of the international champion Vocal Majority Chorus, and has coached throughout the Southwestern District. Coaching has taken him to New Mexico, Oklahoma, Hawaii, New York, Louisiana, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Ohio, New Hampshire, Alaska, Nevada, Utah, Maine, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Florida, Georgia, New Zealand (NZABS), Germany (BinG), Spain (SABS), and thirteen times to Australia (BHA).
He has been a part of many musical educational programs - Harmony University faculty, presenter at Texas Music Educators' Association (TMEA), faculty for SWD Harmony Ranch, SWD Top Gun, MAD Top Gun, District Director clinics, Unity of Purpose workshops, Harmony College East faculty, NSC Top Gun, and faculty on the RMD Harmony College.
He's a graduate from the University of Texas at Austin (B.S. in Education), a Life Member of the Texas Exes Alumni Association, a Life Member of Kappa Kappa Psi, a former member of Longhorn Singers and Longhorn Band (trumpet), a current member of the University of Texas Longhorn Alumni Band, a member of BHS, a member of the Vocal Majority music team, tenor section leader for Vocal Majority, director of Vocal Majority Express, and a member of the Southwestern District Hall of Fame.
